Firstly, the cost of roofing sheets is largely dependent on their size and thickness. Larger sheets carry a higher price compared to their smaller counterparts, while thicker sheets command a greater cost due to the additional material required during manufacture.
It is essential to recognize that the unique requirements of your roofing project will determine the size and thickness needed, ultimately impacting the overall cost. For instance, In the construction of warehouses on Iron Steel, one would generally require a very thick material, preferably 0.70mm roofing sheets or 1mm in full but these gauges are not recommended for residential buildings with wooden carcasses as they will be considered too heavy and might cause the roof to fall (Yes, FALL!!!).

Quality and Grade
Secondly, the quality and grade of roofing sheets can greatly impact their price. In Lagos, we have the standard grade and the general market grade. The standard grade is also referred to as the architectural grade as they are way thicker and way more expensive.
In fact, for most average homeowners they are unaffordable. This is why the market is littered with what we call the market grade that serves the same quality as the standard grade but does not measure up in terms of thickness. It is advisable to consult with a professional roofing contractor or supplier to determine the appropriate grade for your specific project requirements.
In terms of quality, the best standard mostly known to Lagosians is what we know as Bozac Standard or Dodo Standard. This is because both materials are known to be oven baked which makes the colours not fade easily, they also do not rust as they contain little to no trace of Iron or Zinc. Today, in the market, there is usually a difference of N200 to N300 on every Bozac and Non-Bozac material which is why it has become hard for innocent customers to tell the difference.
